What Changes From Town to Town

The trees do. Older neighborhoods closer to the city tend to have big, mature shade trees hanging over houses, garages and power lines, where removal takes careful rigging and a lot of planning. Newer subdivisions farther out often have younger trees planted close to the house, which grow into gutters and siding sooner than anyone expects. Wooded lots on the edges of town bring their own work, from dead trees along a fence line to lot and land clearing before a build.

Across all of it, the emerald ash borer has killed many ash trees in Indiana, and a dead ash gets brittle as it dries out. If you have one standing in your yard, wherever you live, it's worth having someone look at it before the next windstorm.
